My Favorite Money Saving Shopping Secrets

My life truly changed with the emergence of ecommerce. I absolutely love that I can get top deals without ever having to leave my bed.

One could say I have a shopping addiction but I am here to tell you I save so much money doing some of my shopping online. From ordering books back in my college days to doing christmas shopping. I scored new in season boots on sale.. oh and free shipping.

I thought everyone knew that you can google promo codes or sign up for promo emails from your favorite retailers for exclusive deals and alerts for sales. On top of that there are websites that do all the work for you now. Here are three apps I use and always check out before i purchase anything online.

Ebates

How it Works: Ebates gets a commission from stores when you make a purchase, and instead of keeping it, Ebates shares it with you. You simply just install ebates to your browser and it will run every time you go to a ecommerce site. You can also find the store on ebates.com, click “Shop Now” and shop like normal on the store site. After you make an eligible purchase, you'll earn Cash Back and get a check or PayPal payment every quarter. Seriously you get a check in the mail! It’s legit.

You can get $10 after your first purchase with this link.

Honey

How it works: Straight from the website:

Honey is a service that makes it ridiculously easy to save money and time. Honey automatically finds coupon codes for the site you’re shopping at and applies them to your order when you check out, saving you money and coupon searching time.

Honey is very similar to Ebates however they have a ton of promo codes. What I like to do is run Honey and Ebates simultaneously to see which site will give me the most back. I love that Honey has all these promo codes that will automatically be applied to your promo code box once you give the necessary permissions.

It may seem like honey doesn’t give you the best option here however they run specific promos with certain retailers sometimes that will give you enough honey “coins” that are equivalent to $10 cash.

When Honey finds a coupon or discount, the Honey app then lights up with the available coupons it found for that retailer. You can click on the button to see what is available BEFORE you shop or you can wait until checkout and let Honey do the real magic

You will receive Honey Gold for the money you save. You can then redeem those gold coins for gift cards. Honey gives gift cards to top retailers. I always go with the amazon GC since I know that will be useful for anything. Speaking of Amazon…

Honey searches Amazon’s site and makes sure you are getting the best deal for that product. If not, Honey can notify you to let you know when you can buy from a different seller and save money or when the price drops.

Wikibuy

Wikibuy is very similar to the Honey App, so while you shop on Amazon, Wikibuy evaluates other sellers like Walmart, Target, eBay, Jet, and others you might find with a Google search. It confirms which seller has the lowest price/deal. This is a great service to install and use on Amazon and for vacation deals. I also find that they have the largest data bank of promo codes when you are making a purchase. You can redeem your savings with Wikibuy with Giftcards.

Again, these three apps are great because it’s free to sign up and basically free money. I personally have not had any issues using these three services and if anything i’ve saved a ton of money shopping online instead of in store.

Let me know what you think of these three services or if you have any recommendations of other sites that help you save money!
